The Storm System is more than just a plate: It is a fully adaptable and modular body armor plate system.
The rating system for body armor plates can be confusing. The most frequently-asked question about armor is: “What level is right for me?” And, just as frequently, there isn’t a definitive answer. Different roles, different situations, different missions, all call for different levels of protection. What often happens is that people err on the side of caution; they buy Level IV armor plates that, though sure to defeat whatever threat they’re likely to encounter, are simply too heavy for regular use over a period of hours or days. What also happens, though somewhat less often, is that people will buy armor that doesn’t offer sufficient protection from some of the prevalent threats in their region.
That should now be a thing of the past.
The Storm System is a rationally-designed modular armor plate system. It is conceptually simple, it is easy to use, and it enables you to adapt your level of protection — and your mobility — to whatever threats you face.
The foundation of this system is the Storm Foundation, an ultra-light and thin standalone RF1/Level III plate. It is more than just a top-tier Level III armor plate: It is up-armorable.
The Storm: Titanium can attach to the Foundation’s convex outer surface, or strike-face, and this combination offers improved protection: RF2 plus special threat protection. The Titanium can also be used standalone — as an ultra-low-profile Level IIIA/stab plate.
The Storm system can be taken a step further. The Storm: Disruptor is a toughened, polymer-encapsulated ceramic applique that can attach directly to the Foundation’s strike-face, and upgrades its protection to RF3/Level IV.

This is the way armor should be – and, historically, often was. Now, for the first time in the modern era, the Storm System provides armor that is as adaptable as you are.
The Storm: Foundation
With the Storm Foundation you not only have a top-tier Level III/RF1 body armor plate, you have a plate that can rapidly scale to adapt to a changing threat environment.
The Foundation: An ultra-light Level III/RF1 plate. The very lightest in its category: At just 2.44 pounds for a full-cut, multi-curved, 10×12″ plate, the Foundation is a full pound lighter than most of those other plates which are also made primarily of UHMWPE. It is also the thinnest standalone UHMWPE Level III plate available anywhere, at just 0.9″ thick. This is made possible with an architected UHMWPE lay-up methodology, high-pressure consolidation, and a highly advanced foam system.
The Foundation – on its own – is the best possible armor solution for those who require an extremely lightweight armor plate and don’t expect to face down threats with hard steel cores or penetrators, such as the M855. As a standalone plate, it will stop:

Buoyant, highly multi-hit capable, and extremely lightweight, it is the best possible plate for use in situations where mobility is paramount.
…But for those who require more protection — particularly for those who expect to encounter steel-cored small-arms threats — the Foundation can easily and rapidly be up-armored with the Storm: Titanium and Storm: Disruptor add-on armor plates.

Made of precision-engineered titanium alloy, The Storm: Titanium plate is an ultra-tough add-on armor plate for the Storm: Foundation. Used with the Foundation, it augments protection to full RF2, ensuring protection from M855 and similar steel-cored rifle ball threats, including special threats such as the 5.45x39mm 7N6.
The Storm: Titanium can also be used standalone as an ultra-low-profile Level IIIa/stab plate. As a standalone plate the Storm: Titanium will stop the following threats.

The Storm: Disruptor is a ceramic add-on plate for the Storm: Foundation which improves protection to NIJ Level IV. (RF3.) This unprecedented level of performance and modularity is made possible by high-precision ceramic manufacturing technologies and innovative ceramic toughening techniques. The Disruptor must be used in conjunction with the Foundation; as a standalone plate it offers no meaningful ballistic resistance.
