Description
RIOT ARMOR
Novasteel Breastplate
• Riot Armor • Up-armorable Steel Plate Carrier • Standalone Ballistic Armor
The NovaSteel Breastplate is an ultra-versatile torso and shoulder armor system.
Though primarily developed as a revolutionary advance in riot armor — as no other riot armor system to date is capable of stopping a full spectrum of handgun threats, edged weapons, and blunt impact threats — it is more than that. The NovaSteel Breastplate is truly universal armor, and is multi-faceted in ways that other armor systems are not.

RIOT ARMOR
A paradigm shift:
Standard riot armor is much like football armor or motocross armor in that it’s only rated for blunt impact protection and is not intended to protect its wearer from bullets, knives, or spikes.
Many riot officers wear soft armor panels underneath their riot armor torso protectors — but this adds a thermal, weight, and logistical burden, and still doesn’t offer comprehensive protection from knives and other bladed weapons.
The Adept Armor NovaSteel Breastplate is a riot armor torso and shoulder protector — and a drop-in replacement for existing riot armor torso/shoulder parts — with vastly improved ballistic and ergonomic properties. It represents a paradigm shift in protection from the full spectrum of street threats.
Concealable Multi-Threat Armor:
The NovaSteel Breastplate is an excellent option for NIJ IIIA protection. At less than 0.1″ thick, it’s the thinnest Level IIIA armor ever made, and is lightweight and easily concealable. It offers comparable coverage to most soft armor systems. Backface deformation against the common handgun threats, e.g. 9mm FMJ, is extremely low, at less than 10mm on average. And, unlike existing concealable armor systems, it also offers stab and spike protection to the very highest possible level.
Uparmorable Steel Plate Carrier:
The breastplate is adaptable to more extreme circumstances. In fact, it’s a first-in-class plate carrier which can be up-armored with specially-built plates. Ultra-light RF1 plates are available now, which weigh just 1.7 pounds each, and enable the breastplate to handle NIJ Level III and similar rifle threats. RF2 plates are forthcoming. Up-armoring the breastplate requires two bolts, included with each breastplate, and can be done in minutes.
Moreover, the breastplate can be fitted with MOLLE placards for overt use as a structural plate carrier.

Which size is right for you?
Breastplate sizing is based on chest circumference. The circumference of the chest should be measured at its maximum point.
