The Storm Disruptor side plates are ceramic strike-face modules designed to pair with the Storm Foundation side plates. On their own, these modules provide no ballistic protection. When combined with the Foundation side plates, the Disruptor side plates form a fully integrated Level IV / RF3 solution against AP threats such as .30-06 M2 AP. This modular approach allows you to tailor your side protection to the mission at hand, quickly and easily upgrading from lightweight Level III to full Level IV capability.
Minimal Additional Weight, Maximum Protection
Though ceramic strike-faces typically add significant weight, these Disruptor side plates are engineered with state-of-the-art ceramic composites to keep added mass to an absolute minimum. Each assembled side plate stack (Foundation plus Disruptor) remains extremely manageable and comfortable, yet it dramatically increases protection against steel-cored and AP threats.

Modular Ceramic Composite Body Armor
These Disruptor side plates follow the same principle as the torso Disruptor plate. They utilize a toughened ceramic strike-face that requires a UHMWPE backer, the Storm Foundation side plate, to function. Without the Foundation plate beneath it, the Disruptor ceramic would simply shatter on impact. Together, they form a composite armor system that leverages the extraordinary compressive strength of ceramic and the toughness of UHMWPE.

Modular Body Armor Plate

Level IV Body Armor (in conjunction with Foundation side plates)
By combining the Storm Foundation side plates (NIJ III/RF1) with the Disruptor ceramic modules, you achieve Level IV / RF3 side protection. This stops .30-06 AP M2 at the NIJ reference velocity and all lesser rifle threats. For those who need the highest possible level of protection in a rapidly evolving mission environment.
