Adept Digital Evolution is a recent evolution of its own. It is the continuation, and broadening in mission, of "Datatude." Datatude, founded in 1997, focused solely on FileMaker Pro custom database consulting, design and development. Between 1997 and 2003, Datatude served the National Audubon Society as one of its key clients, until Datatude ceased developing with FileMaker Pro and branched out into other tools and services (eventually becoming Adept in January, 2009).

Subject: Letter of Recommendation for Datatude and Ilyse Kazar

The Audubon Adventures department of the National Audubon Society has contracted with Ilyse Kazar of Datatude as our database designer since 1997. In any given year, we may receive upwards of 700 orders for a total of some 12,000 of our environmental education curriculum kits. Each one of these orders is entered into our database by a freelance typist who completes this task off-site. The data is then imported into our in-house computer network, checked for accuracy, and finally exported to our shipper's computer network in another state for order fulfillment. With the switching of data over three different systems, there is much room for technical and human error. However, due to the careful preparation and design of our database by Datatude, we are able to successfully coordinate workflow between our department and our data-entry and order-fulfillment vendors.

Hiring Datatude directly resulted in a vast improvement in our workgroup's efficiency and productivity.

Data entry that once needed to be done directly into our system by our small department could now be completed off-site and later imported into our network, saving us several hours of work each day. Mass mailings to over 12,000 customers could be accomplished in a fraction of the time using the mail merge and form letter features of our new custom-made database. Special analytical reports on ordering trends tghat once took hyours to construct could now be created at the mere click of a button. Datatude fully grasped the complexities of our particular database needs and hand-tailored a system design that was efficient, user-friendly and thorough.

Through the years, I have employed different people to manage the Audubon Adventures database, and Ilyse has consistently come as a representative of Datatude to train the new employees in the customized database system that her company created. Whenever problems or new needs arise for our database system, Datatude consistently responds in a prompt manner, providing assistance in person, over the phone, or through email.
